Andhra Pradesh ranks second in the country in terms of postal facilities.The state had 1,502 post offices in the urban areas and ranked third after Tamilnadu and Uttar Pradesh.There were 20,000 post offies in the rural areas,making Andhra Pradesh second in the Country after UttarPradesh.With the total number of post offices being 16,177,there is one post office for every 3,310 persons and 17sq.kms of the state.

There are a total of 10,017 telegraph offices fuctioning all over the state,including 7 central telegraph offices,73 district offices 3,992 combined offices etc.There are also 18telex exchanges with the capacity of 950 machines.

Andhra Pradesh has the highest number of telephone exchanges in the country,a total of 2,850 with the Overall equipment capacity of more than 10lakh lines.Andhra Pradesh telecom circle is in the fore front of the telecom facilitoes in the country.
