      In Andhra Pradesh mineral wealth and the income thatis generated by it is managed by Mines And Geology Depatment.Apart from this it also has to look for fresh discoveries and to do reasearch on the nature of the Minerals.The estimates of the amount of minerals available is carried out by the Mines and Geology Department.At present there are more than 2500querries which have been based out.There are another 1250 mining spots,for which incomes have not been increased so far..


     The State is Endowed with mineral resources,but there are not many mineral based industries.Even mining is not carried out on a exist scale,there is a scope of increasing production in the state.


      Chrysolite, Asbestos, Clay, Limestone, Barytes, Copper, Lead, Mica, Coal, apatite, Bauxite, Manganese, and Gold are some of the major minerals in the state.In the production chrysolite asbestos, the state occupies the first place.In the 90% of the total production of the Asbestos,in the country is mined here. Similarly 85% of the Barytes produced in the state.


     The largest Bauxite mine in the country is located in the state.This is the mine is the second largest in the world.The largest Bauxite mine is in Australia.Andhra Pradesh stands in the country in the production of mica,Lime stone.Every year more hta three lakh Tonnes of Barytes are exported.


     The Geological Survey of India has estimated that there are 1030tonnes of the coal deposites which can be mined in the state.In the country as a whole ,the coal deposits merit to more than 20,200crore tonnes.
