'Spatial' PDA GIS has been designed to access spatial data on mobile devices and provides for editing and updating the spatial and non-spatial data. The technology also accesses data from GPS. The technology provides for Network analysis to determine shortest route and is voice enabled. It also provides for connecting to a remote server through GPRS / CDMA for transmission and updating of data on the server. Spatial PDA GIS has been developed with special focus on Linux environment. PDA GIS has been developed for both Linux based and Microsoft based operating systems.
